Autoescola Insular

Autoescola Insular is a space of self-learning and practical investigation that is part of the Public Programming of the 33rd Bienal, which began before the show and made use of opportunities offered by the weeks before the setup, and extends in time, up to the closing. It is conceived and coordinated by artists Rafael Sánchez-Mateos Paniagua in collaboration with Eneas Bernal (accompaniment) and the team of the Fundação Bienal de São Paulo (research, education, production and communication).

A walk through time, with Rita Mendonça

Along a 4,600-meter walk through Ibirapuera Park, the participants will learn about the history of life on Earth, about the rhythm of the phenomena that have taken place leading up to our current experience, of urban, industrialized and globalized life. Departing from the third floor of the Bienal Pavilion, each meter walked will represent the passage of 1 million years. During the walk, some exercises of perception will be proposed, aiming to forge an increasingly profound connection with the living processes that we observe and are simultaneously part of. Understanding and experiencing this connection is fundamental for everyone, especially at this moment, when we are going through great climate changes. After a walk through the park, the group will return to the ground floor of the Bienal Pavilion. The walk was developed by Professor Stephan Harding, from Schumacher College.
